WHO WE ARE
The Viva La Vida Committee is a Santa Ana-based nonprofit organization (EIN: 61-1848907) made up of passionate community members, artists, and organizers dedicated to celebrating and preserving the cultural traditions of Día de Muertos in Santa Ana. Rooted in community pride and cultural authenticity, the nonprofit works year-round to plan and produce the annual Viva La Vida Festival—bringing together families, local talent, and visitors for a meaningful and vibrant experience.
Through collaboration, creativity, and a shared respect for tradition, the committee curates altars, performances, art installations, and cultural programming that honor the lives and memories of loved ones. Its mission is to create an inclusive space that uplifts the community, supports local artists and vendors, and educates future generations on the significance of Día de Muertos.

How WE started
At the heart of the Viva La Vida Committee is the legacy of its founder, Rudy Cordova—a visionary, community leader, and proud Santanero whose passion for culture and connection shaped what Viva La Vida has become today. Rudy created the event as a space where art, tradition, and community could come together to honor the spirit of Día de Muertos while uplifting local voices.
Known for bringing people together, Rudy was more than an organizer—he was a mentor, creative force, and advocate for cultural expression in Santa Ana. His dedication helped transform Viva La Vida into one of the region’s most meaningful Día de Muertos celebrations, rooted in authenticity and community pride. Santa Ana continues to feel his impact through the artists he supported, the traditions he helped preserve, and the community he inspired.
Today, the Viva La Vida Committee carries forward Rudy’s vision—continuing to create a space where culture is celebrated, stories are shared, and loved ones are honored.
